About the bike

Frame and Wheel is auctioning a 1983 Alex Moulton AM7 bicycle on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store on 27 September 2012 (12PM EST). The bicycle was donated by an individual to the Community Bicycle Center (CBC) in Biddeford, Maine in 2010 (The CBC is a non-profit youth development organization that empowers all youth through bicycles and bicycle-related experiences). The bicycle was in poor condition and believed to be a strong candidate for the transfer station (rubbish bin). Executive Director Andy Greif observed its unique design and noted that the problems were mostly cosmetic and repairable. He orchestrated its restoration which was completed in 2012. The bicycle has been in storage in Mr. Greif’s garage. The CBC is selling the bicycle because it would like to monetize the donation and use the proceeds to fund its youth development programs. The auction is a 10-day no-reserve worldwide auction closing on 7 October 2012. Frame and Wheel ships worldwide using Federal Express.

The frame features 531 Reynolds tubing, space-frame design, “rubber ball” rear suspension, shock absorbing “leading link” front fork, frame separability into two parts, demount plate with single lever shifter, adjustable steering column, stainless steel seat tube, front and rear carrier fittings and riveted Alex Moulton “Bradford-on-Avon” head badge.
