2008 Felt B12 54 cm carbon TT Tri Frame
Frame and Wheel is bringing a 2008 Felt B12 carbon fiber time trial frame to market on eBay. The previous owner, a masters category cyclist, purchased the frame new at Rainbow Bicycle and Fitness in Lewiston, Maine and used it for two seasons at local time trials, before retiring from the sport this year. The frame weighs about 11 lbs with its current set up and it was recently tuned and cleaned at Freeman's Bicycle Service. The bike has never been crashed and Frame and Wheel confirmed with Felt Bicycles that the front fork is not affected by the recall on front forks for the 2009 B12. The serial number on the frame is: FEF03-B12-54 AK0800062. Please note that there are no wheels or pedals offered and the bike is being sold “as is”.
Review of condition
The frame is in very good condition: it is clean and there are very few signs of wear and tear. For example, there are no scratches on the back of the seat tube, on the bottom of the down tube or on the drive side chain stay. The components are clean; the brake pads, bar tape and the cables are fresh and the shifting and the braking work fine. There is no play in the cranks and the headset turns smoothly. The chain does not read 0.75 or 1.0 on the chain wear tool. The arm pads stay on the arm rests.
Frame and Wheel did find the following blemishes: there is a 4x10 mm chip on the underside of the crown and a 30 mm long scratch nearby on the underside of the downtube. Elsewhere, there is a 3x1 mm scratch on the top of the right blade of the front fork and two similarly sized scratches on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell (one where the cable has rubbed against the frame). There is some corrosion on the chain ring bolts and some wear on the saddle rails and on the sides of the nose of the saddle.
Upgrades and replacements
The two position seat post that came with original bicycle was recalled and replaced by the previous owner with the new single position seat post. Also, the original seat post clamp was faulty and replaced with the Felt two bolt stainless steel clamp. The base bars and aero sticks that came with the bicycle were switched out by the previous owner and replaced with the Oval Concepts A700 Bar.
