Frame and Wheel eBay selling services completes 100 transactions

Frame and Wheel recently completed 100 selling transactions on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. Feedback is 100% positive and Frame and Wheel is very pleased with this result. Frame and Wheel believes that the reason for the positive feedback is as follows: 1) The item is always described in great detail. Frame and Wheel will write extensively about the item and create as many as 100 images of the item. Frame and Wheel cleans the item and during that process actively seeks out blemishes or faults that will disappoint the buyer or affect the value of the item.  2) Frame and Wheel ships in one business day. This means that the item is already packaged and the costs are known before the auction starts. 3) Frame and Wheel carefully packages the item. Frame and Wheel wraps entire bicycles and frames in bubble wrap and carefully packages them in strong boxes. Frame and Wheel uses new custom made boxes for high value carbon frames. 4) Frame and Wheel communicates with the buyer. This means promptly responding to shipping and technical questions. 5) Finally, Frame and Wheel almost always uses a no reserve auction or an auction with a reasonable reserve price. eBay buyers seem to prefer the value opportunity created by an auction and they do not seem to react favorably to a price dictated by the seller. Frame and Wheel notes that two transactions were complex, but in both cases, Frame and Wheel resolved the issue by working out the problem with the buyer. Frame and Wheel also appreciates that no one is perfect and that to keep a 100% positive rating will be hard over the long term. Nevertheless, Frame and Wheel will do what it can to keep both its buyers and sellers satisfied with the service. Frame and Wheel thanks its buyers and sellers for their business so far and looks forward to helping cyclists and IBD turn unused cycling equipment into cash.

2004 Zipp disc wheel 700c tubular carbon

Sold $530

Circa 2004 Zipp disc wheel 700c tubular carbon

Frame and Wheel is bringing to market a circa 2004 Zipp carbon tubular disc wheel 700c on the Frame and Wheel eBay store. This wheel features the dimpled surface and the red and white stickers. Frame and Wheel obtained this wheel second hand in 2006 and has used it for time trials and on a trainer indoors. The wheel has about 400 hours of all weather racing and indoor training on it. It was used on a Cervelo P3 and it worked fine with that bike. Frame and Wheel is selling this wheel because it soon or immediately needs new bearings and a new free hub body in order for it to operate at its optimal level. Frame and Wheel is no longer willing to invest in this wheel. There are 30 images of the wheel at Frame and Wheel eBay Selling Services and on Facebook at Frame and Wheel. Please take a look. The wheel is being sold as is.
Review of condition
The wheel is in good condition. It is clean and ready to ride. It is true and round and there are no cracks or flaking in the rim. There are no holes or dents in the surface of the wheel. Frame and Wheel notes the following. Six of the nine splines on the free hub body have three notches 2 mm in depth from the cassette. These notches (unless filed down) prevent the removal of the cassette spacer. The hubs spin well enough, but the pawls are loud and there is a scratchiness and a reluctance to the feel of the spin of the hubs. There is a 60 mm x 30 mm imprint from the adhesive used to fix the magnet for a road computer to the non drive side of the wheel about 100 mm from the edge of the rim. There is some glue on the rim from the tubular tires. The opening for the valve stem on the non drive side of the wheel was enlarged by Frame and Wheel in 2011. Frame and Wheel carefully inspected this wheel, but cannot guarantee that every imperfection has been spotted.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
This is a great disc wheel that will suit the entry level time trial cyclist or triathlete who seeks the benefit of an aerodynamic rear wheel, but is not prepared to pay the premium for a new one. Although the bearings and the free hub body will need some work to ensure optimal performance, the rims and the wheel are in good and operable condition. Frame and Wheel believes that this is a rare and excellent opportunity to obtain a perfectly good disc wheel at a fraction of the retail price. The new owner will notice and relish the difference that a disc wheel makes, and will be able to use the savings to obtain a deep dish front wheel or some other essential accessory.

2008 Cervelo P2C 56 cm Ultegra carbon triathlon Shimano WH-R500 clincher wheels 700c

Sold:$1,900

2008 Cervelo P2C 56 cm Ultegra carbon triathlon Shimano WH-R500 clincher wheelset 700c

Frame and Wheel is bringing to market a 2008 Cervelo P2C 56 cm Ultegra carbon triathlon bicycle with Shimano WH-R500 clincher 700c wheels on the Frame and Wheel eBay store. The bicycle was purchased new at Peak Performance in Portland, Maine in June 2008. It has 1,200 miles of training and racing on it. It has never been crashed and it has always been stored indoors. The bicycle was professionally maintained at Peak Performance and Freeman’s Bicycle Service. It has had only one previous owner and he is selling it because he no longer competes in triathlons. It was ridden only a few times in 2010. The bicycle features the rear wheel cutout, a dual position seat post, Shimano Ultegra 10-speed front and rear derailleurs, FSA cranks, Vision base and aero bars, Shimano WH-500 clincher wheels, a functioning Cateye Strada Cadence road computer, a Profile Design water bottle mount on the aero bars and a Beaker Concepts H5 Hydrotail with two alloy water bottle cages. The bicycle as pictured weighs 20 pounds (9 kg). Without wheels, the frame and components weighs 13 pounds (5.9 kg). The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell reads SNP2C08B51691. The front tire (Michelin Krylion carbon) is new. No down tube water bottle cage is included with this transaction. The Profile Design water bottle is not included. No pedals are included in this transaction. There are 100 images of the bicycle at Frame and Wheel eBay Selling Services and on Facebook at Frame and Wheel. Please take a look. The bicycle is being sold as is.
Review of condition
The bicycle is in very good condition and it is ready to ride. It is clean and it shows only light signs of wear and tear. There are no cracks or faults that raise concerns about structural integrity of the frame. There are no major scratches, bulges or flaking in the finish of the frame. There is no play in the headset or the bottom bracket. The arm rest pads firmly adhere to the arm rests. The brakes work fine and the brake pads are still fresh with the wear indicators showing about 2 to 3 mm of brake pad remaining until the indicator is worn away. There are no cracks in the cable housing and shifting is smooth and complete. The wheels are true and round and spinning smoothly. The pawls in the freewheel are not loud and the splines on the freewheel hub body are not worn. The spokes are tight and straight and the braking surface of the rims shows normal wear.. There is no wear on the underside of the crown of the front fork or on the inside of the chain stays. The bottom of the down tube is protected from wear by electrical tape used to hold the road computer wiring in place. The front and rear forks are in alignment with the centerline of the frame and the rear derailleur hanger is straight. There is no corrosion in the bolts on the stem, the arm rests, the seat post or the water bottle cage mounts. The chain does not read 0.75 or 1.0 on the chain wear tool.
Frame and Wheel notes the following: there are light scratches on the back of the seat tube from road grit getting trapped between the seat tube and the wheel. There is a 2 x 10 mm abrasion on the end of the drive side chain stay from the rear derailleur cable housing. There is a 5 x 5 mm abrasion on the drive-side head tube from the cable housing. There is a 3 x 5 mm abrasion on the non drive side chain stay perhaps from the road computer mount. There is a 3 x 5 mm blemish towards the bottom of non-drive side down tube. There is a 1 x 3 mm chip on the rear non drive side drop out. The rear portion of the chain guard is not firmly fixed to the chain stay. There are abrasions around the drop outs from quick release bolts. The Cervelo sticker on the seat post is ripped and there are light scratches on the seat post. One of the bladed spokes has been replaced with a silver straight gauge spoke. There is dried adhesive on the bottom of the down tube from the electrical tape. The plug on the seat post is missing. Frame and Wheel carefully inspected this bicycle, but cannot guarantee that every imperfection has been spotted.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this bicycle will make an excellent choice for the entry level triathlete or time trial cyclist. It is in very good condition and it is ready to ride. Frame and Wheel points out that the bicycle shares many of the aerodynamic features of its flashier P3C sibling and notes that with a rear disc wheel and a deep dish front wheel, the bicycle is about two pounds lighter than shown, and can be made to go much faster than it can go with the existing wheel set. Frame and Wheel believes that this offering will allow the new owner to obtain a very nice and fully functional aerodynamic bicycle at a deep discount to the retail price, and use the savings towards the purchase of a lighter wheel set or some other accessory. Regardless, the new owner will relish the speed and the value of this bicycle with each ride, and this will inspire and reward the new owner to strive for and obtain higher levels of performance and suffering.
