2009 Colnago EPS 62cm AMIT

Highest bid: $5,500 reserve not met
2009 Colnago EPS 62 cm AMIT Campy Super Record 11 Campy Bora Ultra Two
In November 2010, Frame and Wheel listed a 2009 Colnago Extreme Power Super (EPS) 62cm road bike, built up with 2010 Campagnolo Super Record 11-Speed group set and Campagnolo Bora Ultra Two tubular wheels. Soon after the bike was listed, the seller changed his mind, and the auction was ended. A few weeks after that, the seller decided to re-list it, but soon after changed his mind once more. The seller understandably did not want to sell this bicycle, but now must do so to meet some financial obligations. The seller has come to terms with this difficult decision and realizes that there will be other bicycles in the future and that the timing is right to put the bicycle on the market. The bicycle has been sitting in an office since November.
The bicycle was previously listed as a ten day auction in November 2010 with a starting bid of $10,000. The auction was ended after five days, at which time the bicycle had 470 views and 27 watchers and interest from the United Kingdom and the United States. The bicycle is being re-listed at $9,500. Shipping is free in the United States. Frame and Wheel ships internationally and welcomes international buyers. Please  please contact Frame and Wheel about shipping internationally before you bid. The revised description is below:
Frame and Wheel is bringing to market a 2009 Colnago Extreme Power Super (EPS) 62 cm carbon 11-speed road racing bicycle (discontinued color: AMIT). The owner of this bicycle purchased the frameset new from R&A Cycles in New York City in late November 2009 and had the bicycle built up with 2010 Campagnolo Super Record 11-Speed and 2010 Campagnolo Bora Ultra Two tubular wheels at Cyclemania in Portland, Maine. The bicycle features a 2010 Cinelli RAM 2 fully integrated carbon bar and stem (white) and a 2010 Selle Italia Carbon SLR saddle. The original owner paid approximately $15,000 for this bicycle.
The bicycle has been carefully maintained and it is in excellent condition. It is ready to ride. The owner of this bicycle is 6 feet 3 inches in height and a former U.S. professional road cyclist with a knowledge of and appreciation for classic European brands. The owner is selling this bicycle to raise money to meet financial obligations. The bicycle was built up in April of 2010 and delivered in July 2010. The owner rode it fewer than ten times (less than 500 miles). It has never been raced, crashed or dropped and it has never been ridden or transported in wet or winter conditions. The bicycle weighs 14 lbs 13 ounces (6.7 kg) as shown. The serial number is X3F110 and it is on the inside of the non-drive drop out. The sale also includes two original Campagnolo wheel bags. This sale does not include pedals, a Cinelli mount for a road computer or water bottle cages. There are 130 detailed pictures of this bike at Frame and Wheel eBay Selling Services and on Facebook at Frame and Wheel. There is also a video. Please take a look. The bicycle is being sold as is.
Review of condition
The bicycle is in excellent condition and ready to ride. It is clean and there are no scratches, cracks or bulges in the finish of the frame. There are no scratches on the bottom of the down tube, the back of the seat tube, on the underside of the crown or on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell. The shifting is smooth and complete and the cables and housing are fresh. The brakes are adjusted properly, the brake cables are fresh and the brake pads are not worn (7 mm of pad). There is no play in the headset and it turns smoothly. The wheels are true and round and spinning smoothly and the freewheel pawls are quiet. The spokes are tight and straight and the skewers have no scratches on them. The braking surface of the rims show no wear and there is no glue on the rims. The tread on the front tire is fresh and the wear on the rear tire is light. The chain does not read 0.75 on the chain wear tool. There is no lateral play in the cranks. Frame and Wheel noted the following: the sides of the saddle show light signs of wear, the handlebar tape is dirty and has some grease marks on it, there is a 15mm scratch on the right side wall of the front tire by the label, and there is a 2mm x 3mm smudge from where the brake cable has rubbed against the head tube. Frame and Wheel carefully inspected this bicycle numerous times, but cannot guarantee that every imperfection has been spotted.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
This is a very unique and very fast road racing bicycle that is in excellent condition. It will suit the tall rider who races or rides enthusiastically and has an appreciation for high performance bicycles. The bicycle has a classic and fluent Italian voice that will inspire its new owner to create masterpiece rides and try for glorious victories. Frame and Wheel believes that this offering is a rare and excellent opportunity to acquire an effectively new, top-end racing bicycle at a substantial discount to its original price. The only imperfection on this otherwise immaculate and thoroughly Italian racing bicycle are the Bontrager spacers on the steer tube. Fortunately, they are not easily spotted, but the new owner may well consider replacing them, as a gesture to gods of Italian cycling.

2008 Spiuk Kronos Time Trial Helmet M/L White

Sold: $102.50
2008 Spiuk Kronos Time Trial Helmet M/L White
Frame and Wheel is auctioning a white 2008 Spiuk Kronos Time Trial Helmet on The Frame and wheel eBay Store. This helmet has had one previous owner who purchased it new in 2008 and used it for the 2009 racing season. The helmet has been in storage ever since. The helmet has never been crashed or dropped. The previous owner is retiring from the triathlons. The helmet weighs 13 ounces (370 g). It is a size M/L (54-61cm) and features an adjustable head strap. The helmet is being sold as is. The helmet is in very good condition and shows very few signs of wear and tear. The interior styrofoam shell is not cracked or damaged, the plastic straps are firmly mounted to the styrofoam shell, the adjustable head strap works fine, the chin strap works fine, the interior padding is not ripped and it is clean and there are no noticeable blemishes on the exterior shell. Frame and Wheel notes the following: there is a 2cm x 8cm area on the top right hand side of the helmet where there are light scratches. The are six 3mm to 5mm cracks in the right front edge of the helmet shell covering. The right edge of the screen at the back of the helmet was loose, which seems to be a common feature of these helmets. Frame and Wheel successfully glued it back into place. Frame and Wheel inspected the helmet closely, but cannot guarantee that every imperfection has been spotted. Frame and Wheel’s view is this that is a very light, comfrotable and aerodynamic helmet, suitable for time trials as well as triathlon. Frame and Wheel is impressed with the chin strap pad that keeps the loose end of the chin strap in place and provides additional padding on the chin. This simple feature is far more comfortable and effective than the tiny rubber bands offered on Giro and other time trial helmets. The offering is excellent value.

2011 Selle San Marco Mantra Carbon FX Saddle Black

Sold $109.00
2011 Selle San Marco Mantra Carbon FX Saddle Black
Frame and Wheel is auctioning on eBay a black 2011 Selle San Marco Mantra Carbon FX saddle. The saddle was purchased new at Pista Palace in San Diego in 2010. It was mounted on a road bike and soon after it was switched out for a different saddle. It has been in storage and unused ever since. The saddle has had only one previous owner and he is selling it because it was not comfortable for him. The saddle is in good condition: it is clean, there are no abrasions from a crash, the covering is not faded or discolored from rubbing or the elements, there are no tears or rips in the “microfeel” synthetic leather surface of the saddle, there are no cracks in the rails and the saddle is not loose upon the frame. Frame and Wheel notes the following: there is 1mm x 5mm scuff mark on the right forward tip of the saddle. There is a 1mm x 2mm abrasion on the rear underside of the saddle perhaps from a saddle bag. Some of the lettering on the rails have faded. There are some creases in the top of the saddle from normal wear and tear. Frame and Wheel inspected the saddle closely, but cannot guarantee that every imperfection has been spotted. Frame and Wheel’s view is that this is a very nice and light road saddle with plenty of hours still left in it. It will suit the rider who already has a seat post that will accommodate a Selle San Marco saddle, and who is knowledgeable about and comfortable with Selle San Marco saddles. Please note that the rails that sit in the seat post bolt have a rectangular shape rather than a round shape. There is about 55mm of rail for the seat post bolt and the rails are about 43mm apart center to center The saddle is being sold as is.

Shimano WH-R550 aluminum 650c clincher wheelset with cassette and tires

Sold: $84.00
Shimano WH-R550 650c clincher wheel set
Frame and Wheel is auctioning a pair of black Shimano WH-R550 650c aluminum clincher wheels. These wheels include a Shimano 105 CS-5600 ten speed cassette (12-27) and a mounted pair of Vittoria Rubino Pro 650 x 23 tires. Please note that these wheels are not the standard 700c size. They are smaller and suit small size bikes only. The wheels were on a 2008 Cervelo P3C 48cm that was purchased new from Peak Performance in Portland, Maine in August 2008 (Please see this bike at the Frame and Wheel eBay Store where it also on auction). The wheels have had only one previous owner and have been used primarily for training. They have never been crashed. The front wheel as shown weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces. The rear wheel as shown weighs 3 pounds 8 ounces. They are eight, nine and ten speed compatible. The magnet pictured is not included with the sale. Sorry. Includes two spare tubes as consolation. The wheels are being sold as is.
Review of condition
The wheels are in good condition. The wheels are clean and ready to ride. They are true and round and the spokes are tight and straight; the splines on the free hub body are undamaged and the pawls are quiet; there is no play in the front or the rear hub; and, the skewers are included and functioning properly. Frame and Wheel notes the following: The front bearings feel a bit rough and are probably due for a cleaning. The braking surfaces of the rims show some wear. The tread on the rear tire is worn flat. Frame and Wheel cleaned and inspected this wheel set very carefully, but cannot guarantee that all imperfections have been spotted.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
These wheels will make an excellent set of training wheels for anyone who has a 48cm size time trial bike or road bike. Indeed, these wheels will complement very nicely the 2008 Cervelo P3C that Frame and Wheel is simultaneously auctioning.

2008 Cervelo P3C time trial bike 48cm with Zipp 404 650c wheelset

Sold: $2,791
2008 Cervelo P3C 48cm carbon time trial bike Zipp 404 650c
Frame and Wheel is bringing to market on eBay 2008 Cervelo P3C 48cm carbon fiber time trial bicycle with a Zipp 404 650c carbon clincher wheel set. The Cervelo P3C is a ubiquitous feature of the triathlon and time trial scene because of its aerodynamic design and its reputation as a fast bike, especially when set up with a disc wheel and a deep dish front wheel. The Zipp 404 is known for its aerodynamic design as well as its sturdiness and versatility, relative to its more specialized siblings. A Cervelo P3C with Zipp 404s is a sensible package.
This bicycle was purchased new at Peak Performance in Portland, Maine in August 2008. It has had only one previous owner. It was raced in late 2008 and was on a trainer during the winter of 2009. It was used for training and triathlons in 2009 and is estimated to have about 1,000 to 1,500 miles on it. It was professionally maintained and it has never been crashed. The bicycle has been in storage indoors since the end of the 2009 season and it has not been ridden since then. The wheels were purchased at the same time as the bicycle and used only for racing. The bicycle as pictured weighs about 18 pounds (8.2 kg). The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket is SNP3C08B00115. The serial number on the bottom of the crown of the 3T Funda Pro fork is CF240208C0010. The previous owner, a dedicated and accomplished female triathlete, is retiring from the sport due to an injury. The bicycle features Shimano Dura Ace 7810 pedals, a functioning Cateye Strada Wireless road computer, a Terry saddle, an Xlab Sonic seat post water bottle cage and an aero water bottle cage for the down tube. No rear skewer included. Sorry. The bicycle is being sold as is.
Review of condition
The bicycle is in good condition and ready to ride. It is clean and there are no major cracks, scratches or chips in the frame that raise concerns about structural integrity. There is no play in the headset or the bottom bracket, the shifting is smooth and complete and the brakes although in need of new cable housing and new pads, work fine. There is no lateral play in the rear Zipp 404, the front and rear wheels are true and round, both wheels spin smoothly, the spokes are tight and the aluminum braking surface shows normal wear. The pedals do not show any indentation from cleats.
Frame and Wheel did spot the following features: there is a 15mm x 10mm abrasion on the inside of the non-drive chain stay from where the tire temporarily rubbed against the chain stay. There is a similar 5mm x 5mm abrasion on the top inside of the non-drive seat stay. There is thin scratch on the back of the seat tube about 6cm in length, probably from where a rock or some grit became stuck between the tire and the frame. There are signs of wear around the dive side drop out including a chip 2mm x10mm in size. There are four light scratches on the non-drive seat stay  of 1mm x 4mm in size. There are small spots of hard to see but hard to remove adhesive on the non-drive side of the down tube (under the accented e). The top tube shows some wear from the mount for the Gu bottle. The left aero bar has a 3mm x 40mm scratch on its interior side and a 2mm x 10mm scratch on its topside. The right aero bar has 1mm x 5mm scratch on its topside. These marks are from a water bottle mount. The left arm rest pad covering is coming off and the right arm rest pad shows sign of wear. There is some corrosion on the rear brake spring and in the bolts on the headset, stem, seat clamp, crank axle bolt and arm rests. The cable housing for shifting cables has cracks in it near the stops. The saddle shows signs of wear on its sides. The disc that plugs the hole in the seat post for the 75 degree saddle position is missing. The brake pads have worn past the replacement indicators. The chain reads more than 1.0 on the chain wear tool. Frame and Wheel inspected this bicycle very closely, but cannot guarantee that every imperfection has been spotted.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this bike will make an excellent choice for the dedicated female triathlete who wants to upgrade to one of the fastest and most practical time trial bicycle packages available. The bicycle shows some signs of wear and tear, but it is largely cosmetic and only because the bicycle has been enthusiastically ridden and raced by its previous owner: there are without question many more hours of suffering and triumph remaining in this bicycle. Based on recent market transactions for 48cm Cervelo P3s, Frame and Wheel believes that the starting bid of $2,500 for this package of frameset, wheel set and upgrades is fair. The new owner will be pleased with this bicycle not only because of the value available in this offering, but because the bicycle inspires and rewards dedication, commitment and the will to suffer.

2007/2008 3T Funda carbon front fork

Sold: $102.50
2007/2008 3T Funda full carbon front fork 43 mm
Frame and Wheel is bringing to market a 2007/2008 3T Funda full carbon front fork on eBay. The fork was purchased new in February 2010 in the gray market and has had only one owner. The frame was “switched on” to a 2007 Lemond Buenos Aries and raced in 2010. The owner wanted to shorten the wheel base of this bike and lower its weight, whcih he did successfully with this fork. The owner is selling the fork because he is upgrading to a new R3 and does not need an extra fork. The fork has not been ridden in winter weather, it has never been crashed and it is not subject to any recalls. The rake on the fork is 43 mm. It weighs 380 grams. The steer tube has been cut and it is 230 mm or 8 inches long (measured from the race). Star nut included. Head set not included. This fork is being sold as is.

Review of condition.
The fork is in good condition. There are no cracks, fisures or bulges in the steer tube; there are no cracks or fissures around the drop outs; there are no major chips, gouges or blemishes on the blades; and the race is firmly mounted. Frame and Wheel notes the following: the finish and most of the serial number on the underside of the crown has been worn away by debris from the front tire; there are some light scratches on the 3T lettering on the left side of the blade; the finish has been scratched in the area where the front brake bolts onto the fork; and there are some minor chips around the drop outs where the skewer meets the fork. Cervelo Q.C. sticker still attached. Frame and Wheel cleaned and inspected this fork carefully, but cannot guarantee that all imperfections have been spotted.

Frame and Wheel conclusion
This is a very light, strong and areodynamic racing fork that will represent a significant upgrade to a racing bicycle that uses a front fork that has a more slack rake to it or a steel steer tube. It could also act as a suitable replacement fork for some one who is a little behind on the recall of the Wolf SL forks. The fork is identical to the 2008/2009 3T Funda Pro except that the word “Pro” is not printed on the blade. The red color is nice.
