The bicycle was parted out in September and the frame set placed in storage. The owner is selling the frame set because he has another bike to ride. The frame set features tall cyclist sizing, Wyndy Milla full carbon front fork, integrated seat mast, carbon seat post post, tapered head tube (1 1/8 inch to 1 1/2 inch), asymmetrcial top tube, oversized “trapezoid” down tube, aero seat tube with cutaway, flat seat stays with wishbone junction, oversized rectangular chain stays, Italian thread bottom bracket and distinctive and one of a kind pink / white / black Wyndy Milla finish. The frame set as pictured weighs 4 pounds 14 ounces (2.2 kg). The seat tube and top tube sizing numbers on the bottom bracket read 55 x 60.5. The serial number on the front fork reads 423517 1. The owner is 6 feet 2 inches with an inseam of 34 inches. Please see 250 additional images of the frame set at the Frame and Wheel’s Flickr page.  Please see the Frame and Wheel website for more information about the service.

Review of condition
The frame set is in very good condition. It is clean and ready for build. There are no cracks, bulges, discolorations, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. The rear triangle is in alignment with the the centerline of the frame to within 0.5 mm (less than the width of a penny). The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The chain stay cable stop is riveted securely and clear of obstructions. The barrel adjusters are riveted securely and working properly. There is no corrosion in the water bottle bolt holes. The bottom bracket shell is not damaged. The threads in the bottom bracket are not stripped or corroded. There are no cracks, bulges, discoloration, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the front fork. The crown race is not damaged. Frame and Wheel notes the following. There are three 1 mm x 5 mm abrasions on the drive side top tube near the junction with the seat tube. There are five 1 mm x 4 mm abrasions on the drive side seat tube near the “W” in Wyndy. There is a 3 mm x 7 mm chip in the finish on the front top edge of the seat tube. There is wear around the edges of the bottom bracket shell. There is no chain stay protector.

Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this frame set will make an excellent choice for the very tall dedicated road cyclist who seeks to upgrade to something very light and very stiff. The frame set is in very good condition and shows immaterial signs of wear. It is effectively  new and has many unused hours of serious training and racing in it oversized and aero carbon tubes. Built up with a Campagnolo Super Record 11-speed group set, Campagnolo Bora Ultra Two tubular wheels and Cinelli integrated bar and stem, the bicycle will be very light and fast and it will have an irreverent and animated voice that channels the vibe of surf and skate culture, but belies its pure Anglo-Italian road racing spirit. The new owner will relish these qualities and derive additional satisfaction from knowing that this particular frame set has been the public face of the Big Gernaium line for 2012 and is the only one with this finish. An excellent and very rare opportunity to join the growing Wyndy Milla peleton.

Frame and Wheel is auctioning a 2004 Parlee Z3 59 XL frame set on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The frame set was purchased from Parlee Cycles in 2010. It was built up and used for fair weather club rides. The bicycle was parted out in 2012 and has been in storage. The frame set has never been crashed. It has always been stored indoors. The owner is selling the frame set because he has obtained another Parlee and no longer needs this one. The frame set features Parlee Cycles full carbon front fork, Chris King NoThreadset external cup headset (red finish) and Parlee adjustable carbon front derailleur hanger “belt”. The frame features compact geometry, tall head tube, “wish-bone” seat stays, carbon lugs, titanium bottom bracket and rear drop outs, carbon cable stops, orange lettering on nude carbon finish and original “Made in the USA” Parlee provenance. The frame set as shown weighs 3 pounds 9 ounces (1.6 kg). The serial number reads PCZ04E30039. The owner is 6 feet 3 inches with an inseam of 32 inches. Extra front derailleur hanger belt and expander bolt included. Seat post not included. Please see 100 additional images of the frame set at Frame and Wheel’s Flickr page. Please see the Frame and Wheel website for more information about the service.

Transferable lifetime warranty
Parlee Cycles informed Frame and Wheel that for frame sets of this vintage, the original lifetime warranty can be transfered to the new owner. This requires the frame set to be shipped to Parlee Cycles headquarters in Beverly, Massachusetts, where it will be inspected for any faults. If the frame set passes this inspection, Parlee Cycles will reissue the warranty to the new owner. This costs $250 payable to Parlee Cycles. Frame and Wheel will be very pleased to facilitate this process on behalf of the winner.

Review of condition
The frame set is in very good condition. It is clean and ready for build. There are no cracks, bulges or flexing that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame or the fork. The rear drop outs are in alignment with the the centerline of the frame to within 1.0 mm (less than the width of a penny). The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. There is no road wear on the bottom of the down tube, the inside of the chain stays or the back of the seat tube. The carbon cable stops are undamaged and clear of obstructions. The headset cartridge bearings move smoothly and quietly and are securely mounted in the cups. There are no cracks, bulges, flexing or flaking in the steer tube. The race is mounted securely on the front fork. The headset is complete. The front fork has safety tabs. There is no corrosion in the bottom bracket, on the crown race or in the water bottle bolts.

Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is a 2 mm x 7 mm scratch on the outside face of the right fork blade. There is a 3 mm x 3 mm abrasion on the inside face of the drive side chain stay from wheel rub. There is a 5 mm x 5 mm abrasion on the underside of the top tube. There is light abrasion on the seat tube from the front derailleur hanger belt. There is light wear on the head tube from cable housing rub. There is wear around the brake mounts. There is wear around the rear drop outs. There is no chain stay protector.

Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Parlee Z3 will make an excellent choice for the taller road cyclist who wants to upgrade to a light, full carbon, modern day classic frame set. This Z3 is in very good condition and it shows immaterial signs of wear. It is very light for its size and it is a blank slate upon which the new owner can create a masterpiece of cycling form and function. Built up with a Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 group set, Zipp 303 Firecrest tubulars, and 3T bars and stem, the frame set will become a very light and fast road bike with a distinctive voice that speaks clearly of Parlee Cycle’s ability to build some of the finest carbon frame sets on the market today. The bicycle will also become a strong candidate for Parlee Cycle’s Facebook Wall given that the frame set is believed to have had Mr. Parlee as its only other owner. Regardless of the build and the frame set’s unique provenance, this Z3 will attract plenty of complements from cyclists and non-cyclists alike and inspire the new owner to reach new levels of cycling excellence. A rare opportunity to join Peleton Parlee on one of the first Z3 frame sets to leave the factory and roll up the road.

The crank set features milled integrated 53T / 39T chain ring, hollow and elliptical 175 mm crank arms, I-beam four bolt spider, proprietary Coda bottom bracket (English thread) and neo retro design. The crank set is in good condition. It is clean and ready for installation. The chain rings are not bent and the teeth are not chipped or broken. All four chain ring fixing bolts are included and are not stripped or locked. The crank arm fixing bolts are not stripped. The bolt holes for the pedals are not stripped. The bottom bracket threads are not stripped. There is no cracking along the edge of the crank arms (a fault that led to the recall of the cranks). Frame and Wheel notes the following. The bearings feel rough. One of the cups is very difficult or impossible to remove from the axle. The outer chain ring teeth show wear. There is surface corrosion on the axle. A rare and original crank set for the Cannondale enthusiast and an interesting piece of bicycle engineering that was perhaps ahead of its time. Coda by the way stands for Cannondale Original Design Application. Who knew?

1995 Cannondale R800 58cm aluminum frameset black/violet road

Sold: $61  Buyer: USA
1995 Cannondale R800 58cm aluminum frameset black/violet road
Frame and Wheel is auctioning a 1995 Cannondale R800 frameset on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The frame set was obtained new in 1996. It was used for training and triathlons. The owner stopped riding it in 2007. It has been in storage since then. It has never been crashed. It has had only one owner. He is selling it because he does not ride it anymore. The frame set features aluminum construction, Kinesis Lightweight Aluminum front fork and Campagnolo Veloce external cup head set. The frame features “swaged” down tube and “ovalised” top tube, 130 mm rear dropouts, replaceable rear derailleur hanger, down tub shifting bosses, black with violet highlight finish and 1990s “Made in the USA” Cannondale provenance. The frame set as shown weighs 4 pounds 12 ounces. The serial number is illegible. Please see 90 additional images of the frame set at Frame and Wheel’s Flickr page. Please see the Frame and Wheel website for more information about the service.

Important information
There is a $20.00 Product Analysis and Service (PAAS) charge included in the shipping for this item. The PAAS charge covers or defrays the cost of packaging materials and compensates Frame and Wheel for the time and effort spent obtaining the item, inspecting and cleaning it, writing accurate and comprehensive descriptions about it, creating informative images of the item, packing it carefully, processing the order in one day, offering a 14 day return policy and responding to emails quickly. For more information about the PAAS and other Frame and Wheel shipping and return policies, please see section at the end of the item description. Please visit the Frame and Wheel website for more information about the company and the service.

Review of condition
The frame set is in fair condition. There is corrosion in the following locations on the frame: the bottom of the bottom bracket, the bottom of the down tube, under the top tube near the junction with the head tube; surrounding the top tube cable stops; around the down tube bosses; on the head tube; at the junction of the chain stays, bottom bracket and seat tube; around the water bottle cage mounts; on the the top of the non drive chain stay; and around the drop outs on the front fork. This corrosion has caused the finish to bubble and chip. There is a 1 mm x 40 mm scratch on the non drive side head tube. There is a 2 mm x 30 mm scratch on the drive side down tube on the third “n” in Cannondale. There is wear on the seat tube from the front derailleur hanger. There is wear around the rear and front drop outs.

Otherwise, the frame set is clean and ready for restoration and build. There are no dents, bends or bulges that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. The rear triangle is in alignment with the centerline of the frame to within 4.0 millimeter (the width of two pennies). The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The cable stops are welded securely and free of obstructions. There is no damage or corrosion in the head tube bore. The bottom bracket threads are not stripped. There are no dents, bends or bulges that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the front fork. The threads on the steer tube are not stripped. The headset bearings are not corroded. The head set turns smoothly.

Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Cannondale R800 will make a fine restoration project for the Cannondale enthusiast or classic bike collector. It will also make a fine candidate for the bike builder who wants to get some practice repainting aluminum frame sets. The frame set may also have a future as fixed gear machine. Despite its obvious cosmetic problems, the frame set still has a healthy voice that speaks of performance in a classic accent. The new owner will have fun getting this frame set back on the road and may even choose to keep the finish as it is (they certainly do not paint them like this anymore). A great opportunity to obtain an aluminum frame set at an attractive valuation.

Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Dave Moulton 30th Anniversary Fuso FR1 frame set will make an excellent restoration project for the classic steel bike enthusiast. It will also suit the smaller rider who seeks the smooth ride characteristics of steel and the simpler graphics of late 1980s. The frame set is in very good condition for a 25 year old frame set and shows only light signs of wear. It is a blank slate on which the new owner can create his or her own modern day classic. Built up with SRAM Red components, carbon bars and stem and Zipp 303 tubulars, the bicycle will have a voice that speaks of Dave Moulton’s legendary racing and steel frame building triumphs with a contemporary vocabulary and carbon accent. Regardless of the build, this is a rare and unique opportunity to join the Dave Moulton Peleton.
