Frame and Wheel is auctioning a Merckx EMX-525 frame set on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The frame set was purchased new in 2013. The owner decided that it was not the right frame set for him and thus he is selling it. It was never built up. It has been in storage. It has had only one owner. The frame set features integrated Merckx Aerofork II full carbon front fork, Merckx full carbon seat post, BB86 bottom bracket, FSA headset, bolt on front derailleur hanger and Merckx alloy seat collar. The frame features electronic specific cable routing, horizontal top tube, oversized down tube, tapered head tube (1 1/8 inch to 1 1/2 inch), oversized asymmetric chain stays, twin seat stays with carbon bridge, replaceable rear derailleur hanger, stealth bomber lines  and black white finish. The frame set scores a 99 percent on the Frame and Wheel Rating System. It is in excellent condition. It is clean and ready for build. There is no road wear anywhere on the frame set. There are no cracks, bulges, discolorations, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. The rear triangle is in alignment with the centerline of the frame. The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The front derailleur hanger is undamaged and securely bolted to the seat tube. The top tube cable stops are unobstructed and undamaged. The wiring openings on the top tube, bottom bracket and chain stay are not damaged or obstructed. There is no corrosion in the water bottle bolt holes. There is no corrosion in the battery mount bolts. The bottom bracket shell is not damaged. Frame and Wheel is auctioning a Redline Conquest Team cyclocross bicycle on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The frame set was purchased used. It was used for racing and training for two seasons. It has been in storage. It is being sold because it is no longer being used. The frame set features Redline carbon front fork for cantilever brakes, Gravity alloy seat post, alloy seat post collar, external headset (1 / 1/8 steer tube) and English thread bottom bracket. The frame features Scandium aluminum construction, cyclocross geometry, external top tube, seat stay and down tube cabling, cantilever rear brake mounts, replaceable rear derailleur and original red black finish. The bicycle features Shimano Ultegra 6600 rear derailleur and front derailleur (clamp-on), Shimano Ultegra 6600 dual control shifters, FSA compact crank set (46T/36T chain rings and 170 mm crank arms), TRP carbon cantilever brakes, Forza alloy handle bars, Forza stem (100 mm), Shimano CS-6600 10-speed cassette (12-27), Bontrager seat, chain catcher and Ritchey WCS Protocol alloy clincher wheels with Hutchinson Bulldog 700 x 34 tires. The bicycle as shown weighs 8.6 kg (18 pounds 14 ounces). The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell reads ISB80500874. Stand over is 75.5 cm. Pedals not included. Review of condition
The bicycle is in good condition. It is clean and ready to ride. There is no road wear on the back of the seat tube, the inside surfaces of the chain stays or on the bottom of the down tube. The shifting is complete in all twenty gears. The brakes activate easily and grip well. The brake cable housing is not cracked. There are no dents, bends or cracks  that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. The rear triangle is in alignment with the centerline of the frame to within 1.5 mm (the width of one penny). The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The front derailleur hanger is undamaged and secured firmly. There is no cracking, bulging, discoloration or flexing that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the front fork. The steer tube does not show any cracks or bulges. The crown race is secured firmly. There is no play in the bottom bracket. The water bottle cage bolts are not stripped or corroded. The handle bars are not bent. The bar tape is mounted securely. The chain does not read 0.75 or 1.0 on the chain wear tool. The wheels are clean. The hubs spin freely. The spokes are tight and straight. The rims are round. There are no dents in the rims. There is no lateral or vertical variation in the rims when placed in a truing stand. The valve openings are undamaged. There is no corrosion on the hubs. There is no corrosion on the rims. The skewers are straight and undamaged. There is no corrosion on the skewers. The tires hold pressure. The treads are not worn out.

Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is a 20 mm x 40 mm abrasion on the drive side crank arm from a bootie. There is a 20 mm x 30 mm abrasion on the non drive side crank arm from a bootie. There are scratches on both crank arms. There is surface corrosion on the chain rings. There is a 5 mm x 20 mm abrasion on the drive side head tube from cable rub. There is a 7 mm x 7 mm scratch on the top of the bottom bracket shell. There is light wear on the top of the top tube from cable rub. The brake pads are worn and should be replaced soon. There is some corrosion in the steer tube expander bolt. There is wear around the front and rear dropouts. The front hub feels rough. There is some play in the front hub. There is wear on the braking surfaces of the rims. There are some scratches on the Ritchey rim stickers. There are light scratches on the outside surface of the non drive side fork. There is a hop in the rear tire. The bar tape has smudges. The seat post has been cut.

Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Redline Conquest Team will make an excellent choice for the entry level cyclocross competitor or serious commuter. It is in good condition and shows light wear for a cyclocross bike. The new owner will appreciate the durability of the Redline Scandium alloy frame, the practicality of the Ritchey clincher wheels and the smooth shifting of the Ultegra drive train. An excellent opportunity to obtain a fine cyclocross bike from Redline.
