2008 Zipp Sub 9 Disc Tubular wheel 700c Zipp 182 hub Rolf skewer time trial
Frame and Wheel is auctioning a Zipp Sub 9 disc wheel on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The wheel was purchased new in 2008. The wheel was used for time trials. It was used about five times and has less than 100 miles of use. It has never been crashed. It has been in storage for the past two years. The owner is selling it because it is no longer needed. The wheel features toroidal rim, ABLC dimpled surface, 24 mm rim width, Zipp 182 disc hub, Rolf stainless steel skewer, Shimano 10 speed free hub body, double sided valve opening and Sub 9 aero cool. The wheel as shown weighs 2 pounds and 4 ounces (1.0 kg). Please note that this wheel will not fit on the following bikes: Cervelo P3, Cervelo P4, Ridley Dean and Noah, Scott Plasma, Giant Trinity Alliance, Argon 18E-114, Felt B16 (brakes do not open wide enough), Blue Triad (2011 model year), Trek Speed Concept 9 (requires brake modifications), Specialized Tarmac Pro SL (2009 model year) Orbea Orca Gold. About 3 mm of clearance is required on each side of the wheel to accommodate frame flex. No Zipp decals for valve hole included. There are 45 images of the wheel set at Frame and Wheel’s Flickr page. Please take a look.

Review of condition
The wheel is in very good condition. It is clean and ready to ride. There is no cracking, flexing, discoloration or flaking in the rim. There are no dents, punctures or scratches in the surface of the wheel. The wheel is true and round. The hub spins freely and smoothly. There is no play in the hub. The skewer is straight and undamaged. The valve opening is undamaged. The stickers are on securely. The braking surfaces of the rim show no wear. Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is a is a 4 mm x 4 mm abrasion on one of the drive side Zipp stickers. There is a light layer of glue on the rim. The free hub body shows light wear from a cassette.

Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that a disc wheel is a necessary tool for any road cyclist or triathlete who is serious about improving his or her performance in the race against the clock. This Zipp Sub 9 Disc Tubular is in very good condition and shows immaterial signs of wear. It will produce an immediate speed and weight advantage and it will dramatically change the voice of any time trial bicycle (excluding the models listed at the top of the description). The new owner will relish the distinctive sound that this wheel makes when at speed and will be inspired to reach for new levels of performance in the in the Race of Truth. An excellent opportunity to obtain an effectively new disc wheel.
