Frame and Wheel is auctioning a 2007 Kuota K Factor carbon time trial frame set on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The frame set was purchased new at Fit Werx in 2006. It was used in triathlons and for training in 2007. It was never crashed. It has been in storage for the past few years. It has had only one owner. The owner is selling it because he no longer uses the frame set. The frame set features the Kuota TT Aero Blade front fork, aero seat stays, cut away seat tube, horizontal rear alloy drop outs, s-bend chain stays and 12K carbon weave monocoque construction. The frame set as shown weighs 2.3 kg (5 pounds 2 ounces). The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell reads RL-25 02469. The serial number on the front fork is unknown. Review of condition
The frameset is in good condition and shows signs of only light wear. It is clean and there are no cracks or bulges that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. There is no road wear on the bottom of the down tube, on the back of the seat tube or on the insides of the chain stays. There is no corrosion in the seat post and water bottle bolts or bolt holes. The rear drop outs are in alignment with the the centerline of the frame and the rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The front derailleur hanger is screwed securely to the seat post and undamaged. The threads of the bottom bracket have no corrosion and are not stripped. The headset cartridge bearings move smoothly and quietly. The headset races are not pitted or corroded. The steer tube is not bent. The front drop outs are in alignment with the centerline of the frame. The front fork has safety tabs. The race is mounted securely on the front fork and the headset is complete.
Frame and Wheel notes the following: There is a 5 x 10 mm abrasion on the leading edge of the left blade of the front fork. There are smaller abrasions near this one. There is a 2 x 10 mm abrasion on the inside face of the right blade of the front fork and a smaller one near to it. There are a series of small abrasions about 1 x 3 mm in size on the leading edge of the right front fork blade. The paint on the front brake bolt has chipped away. There is some corrosion on the steer tube. there is wear around the front drop outs. There is a 10 x 70 mm area of abrasion near the non-drive side bottom bracket. There is 5 x 10 mm abrasion on the drive-side chain stay near the bottom bracket. There is some corrosion around the barrel adjusters. The bolts for the down tube water bottle cage is missing. Frame and Wheel carefully and in good faith inspected this item, but cannot guarantee that every imperfection has been spotted.

Frame and Wheel’s view is that this frame set will make an excellent choice for the road cyclist who needs to have a time trial bicycle for the summer stage races. It will also suit the triathlete who wants to build up a fast and light time trial bicycle without paying a premium. The frame set is in good condition with plenty of hours of use still remaining. With a disc wheel and a deep dish front wheel, the bicycle will have an impressive voice and it will be fast. There may be a quota on how many bicycles can be imported into Europe each year, but there is no quota on the amount of satisfaction the new owner will derive from obtaining and building this bicycle. Perhaps that is the K Factor for which the frame set is named.
