2011 BMC Teammachine SLR01 50cm SRAM Force Easton EA70 Mavic Ksyrium ES Selle Italia BB30 road
Frame and Wheel is auctioning a BMC Teammachine SLR01 on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The bicycle was purchased second hand in early 2012. It was unused at the time of purchase. The current owner used it for training. It has about 1,000 miles of use. The bike was never raced. It was never crashed. It has spent much of the past year in storage. The frame set features full carbon construction, BMC Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC) front fork, proprietary BMC quill-style seat post, oversized down tube, oversized chain stays, distinctive “stepped” seat stays, BB30 bottom bracket, tapered top tube, tapered head tube (1 1/8 inch to 1 1/4 inch headset), gloss black and red finish and Swiss design provenance. The bicycle features SRAM Force front and rear derailleurs, SRAM Force cranks set (53T/39T chain rings and 170 mm crank arms), SRAM PG-1070 cassette (12-25), SRAM Force brake set, SRAM Force dual control shifters, Easton EA70 alloy handle bars (42 mm c-c), Easton EA 70 alloy stem (110 mm), Selle Italia SL seat and Mavic Ksyrium ES (Edition Speciale Dixieme Anniversaire Helium) wheels with Continental Ultra Sport tires. The bicycle as shown weighs 14 pounds 13 ounces (6.7 kg). The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket reads Y1010SLR 5000269. The serial number on the front fork crown reads YTBCK 104857. The owner is 5 feet 8 inches with an inseam of about 30 inches. Stand over is 76.0 cm. One bottle cage included. Mavic titanium skewers. Pedals not included. There are 160 detailed images of the bicycle at Frame and Wheel’s Flickr page. Please take a look.

Review of condition
The bicycle is in very good condition. It is clean and ready to ride. The shifting is complete in all twenty gears. The brakes activate easily and grip well. There is 5 mm of brake pad. The brake cable housing is not cracked. The hubs spin freely. The spokes are tight and straight. The rims are round. The wheels show no horizontal or vertical variation when placed in the truing stand. There are no dents in the alloy rims. There are no cracks in the hub bodies. There are no cracks in the flanges of the hubs. There is no corrosion on the hubs, the spokes or the skewers. The skewers are straight and complete. The tires hold pressure. There is no road wear on the bottom of the down tube or on the back of the seat tube.  There is no wear on the head tube or seat tube from cable housing rub. There is no cracking, discoloration, bulging, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. The rear triangle is in alignment with the centerline of the frame to within 1.5 mm (the width of one penny). The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The front derailleur hanger is undamaged and secured firmly. There is no cracking, bulging or flexing that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the front fork. The steer tube does not show any cracks or bulges. The crown race is secured firmly. There is no play in the bottom bracket. The water bottle cage bolts are not stripped or corroded. The handlebar is not bent. The bar tape is mounted securely. There are no rips or abrasions on the seat.  The chain does not read 0.75 or 1.0 on the chain wear tool. Frame and Wheel notes the following. The rear hub spins roughly and will benefit from some expert servicing. The rear tire is worn. The braking surfaces of the wheels show wear. The sides of the seat show wrinkles. There is wear on handlebar center from the stem. There is wear on the seat post from installation and removal.

Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this BMC Teammachine SLR01 will make an excellent choice for the emerging and dedicated road cyclist who wants to upgrade from that second hand aluminum bicycle to a fast, stiff and very light road bike. The bicycle is in very good condition and shows immaterial signs of wear. The new owner will appreciate the smooth double click shifting of the SRAM Force drive train, the light weight and durability of the Mavic Ksyrium ES wheels and the voice of the bike that channels the spirit of Cadel Evans, Tejay van Garderen and George Hincapie. A rare and fine opportunity to obtain a very nice and very lightly used BMC Teammachine SLR01.
