Frame and Wheel is auctioning a Redline Monocog Flight 29er mountain bike on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The bicycle was purchased new in 2007. It was used for trail riding. It has had only one owner. It has been in storage. The owner is selling it because he no longer uses it. The frame set features double butted steel construction (Sanko Cromoly), Redline steel front fork, Ritchey Pro seat post, goose neck down tube, slider style rear dropouts, disc brake mounts, English thread bottom bracket, external cup headset (1 1/8 inch), double water bottle cage mounts, multi-speed upgradeability, suspension compatible geometry, pleasing blue finish and Redline cool. The bicycle features FSA Alphadrive cranks (32T with 170 mm crank arms), Surly rear sprocket (19T 3/32 inch), Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes and levers, Ritchey Pro Rizer handle bars (67 mm c-c), Ritchey Pro stem (90 mm), WTB Rocket seat and WTB LaserDisc 29er wheels with Redline hubs and Maxxis Ignitor 27 mmx 2.1 tires. The bicycle as shown weighs 25 pounds 6 ounces (11.6 kg). The partially obscured serial number on the bottom bracket reads ISB 70...0253. The owner is 5 feet 8 inches with an inseam of 30 inches. Review of condition
The bicycle is in good condition. It is clean and ready to ride. The disc brakes activate easily and grip well. The cable housing is not cracked. The cables are not corroded or frayed. The cable stops and eyelets are undamaged and free of obstructions. The hubs spin smoothly and freely. The spokes are tight and straight. The rims are round. There is less than 1.0 mm lateral of lateral variation in the rims when placed in a truing stand. There are no dents or cracks in the rims. There is no corrosion on the spokes. There are no cracks in the hub bodies. There are no cracks in the flanges of the hubs. There is no corrosion on the skewers. The skewers are straight and complete. There are no cracks in the tire side walls. The tires hold pressure. The treads are fresh. The sidewalls are not cracked. The rim stickers are not peeling off. There are no dents, bends or bulges that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. The rear triangle is in alignment with centerline of the frame to within 1.5 millimeters (the width of a penny). There is no corrosion on the frame.
The sliding rear drop outs are secured firmly to the frame and are undamaged. The drop out adjustment bolts are not bent. The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. There are no dents bends or bulges that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the front fork. The steer tube does not show any cracks or bulges. The crown race is secured firmly. The external cups are mounted securely and are undamaged. The head set is complete. The head set bearings turn smoothly. There is no play in the bottom bracket. There is no corrosion in the water bottle cage bolt holes. The handlebars are not bent. The bar ends are secured firmly. The seat post is not damaged. None of the seat clamp parts are missing. The seat rails are undamaged. The chain does not read 0.75 or 1.0 on the chain wear tool.
Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is a 10 mm x 65 mm abrasion on the left front fork. There is a 10 mm x 40 mm abrasion on the right front fork. There is a 3 mm x 15 mm scratch on the inside surface of the drive side chain stay. There is a 3 mm x 10 mm scratch on the inside surface of the non drive side chain stay. There are scratches on the end of the crank arms. There are light scratches on the bottom of the down tube. There is wear around the drop outs. There is corrosion on the rear drop out adjustment bolts. There is corrosion on the bolts of the rear derailleur hanger. The braking surfaces of the rotors show wear. There is surface corrosion on the rear sprocket. One of the bar end plugs is missing.

Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Redline Monocog Flight 29er will make a fine choice for the cyclist who wants to ride the trails on 29 inch wheels, but does not seek the complexity of multi speed drive trains, hydraulic braking systems and front and rear shock absorber systems. The bicycle is in good condition and it has many hours of riding remaining in its steel tubes and alloy rims. The new owner will relish the smoothness of the 29 inch wheels, the torque of the single speed drive train, the power of the disc brakes and the voice of the bike that speaks simply of the purity of single speed off road riding. A fine opportunity to join the 29er revolution.
