2009 Focus Izalco Team Milram 62cm 3XL frame 3T Funda Pro fork integrated seat mast carbon road
Frame and Wheel is auctioning a 2009 Focus Izalco Team Milram on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The owner purchased the frame set new from Focus USA in late 2009. The frame set was built up in 2010 and has about 1000 miles of light training on it. It was never raced and it was never crashed. The bicycle was taken apart and the frame set placed in storage where it has been for 2011 and 2012. The frame set features 3T Funda Pro carbon fork, integrated seat post (ISP), Ritchey seat mast topper, oversized down tube, recessed front derailleur hanger, head tube cable guides and Team Milram finish. The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell reads DS0805162. The serial number on the steer tube reads E18E50K2533 FK-CF053-A-UD. The owner is six feet tall with an inseam of about 32 inches. The frame set as shown weighs 4 pounds 3 ounces (1.9 kg). Please see 90 additional images of the frame set at Frame and Wheel’s Flickr page. Please see the Frame and Wheel website for more information about the service.
Review of condition
The frame set is in very good condition. It is clean and ready for build. There are no cracks, bulges, discolorations, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame or the fork. There is no wear on the underside of the down tube or on the back of the seat tube. The rear triangle is in alignment with the the centerline of the frame and the rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The cable stops are undamaged, clear of obstructions and riveted securely. The front derailleur hanger is securely mounted to the seat tube. There is no corrosion in the water bottle bolt holes or on the seat mast topper. The seat mast topper is not missing any parts. The threads in the bottom bracket are not stripped or corroded. The steer tube is not cracked or flaking. The front fork has safety tabs. The race is mounted securely on the front fork. The crown race is not corroded or pitted. The cartridge bearings turn smoothly and the headset is complete. Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is a 1 mm x 10 mm chip in the finish on the lower edge of the drive side head tube. There is constellation of small spots on the inside face of the non drive side chain stay. There is wear on the front and rear drop outs. There is wear on the top end of the integrated seat tube mast from installation and removal of the topper. There is wear under the crown of the front fork. The lettering on the topper has been worn off by a seat bag. There is no chain stay protector. There is no cable guide mounted on the bottom of the bottom bracket. There are no barrel adjusters on the down tube.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Focus Izalco Team Milram will make an excellent choice for the taller cyclist who lives for the sprint and seeks something very stiff and light. The frame set has been gently used and it features a sturdy 3T Funda Pro fork and an integrated seat mast. The frame set is a blank canvas on which the new owner can create his or her own masterpiece. Alternatively, the new owner can recreate the original Focus Izalco Team Milram bike by adding SRAM Red components, FSA bars and stem, a Fizik seat and Lightweight wheels with Continental tires. Either way, the final result will be very light bike for its size (with a thoroughly German voice) that will allow the new owner to channel the raw power of Milram sprinters of yore Erik Zabel and Gerald Ciolek. A rare and excellent opportunity to obtain a unique frame set.
