Frame and Wheel is auctioning a 2011 Cervelo P4 frame set on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The frame set was purchased new in 2010. It was used for triathlons and for training. It has never been crashed. It has been in storage for 2013. The owner is selling it because it is no longer needed. The frame set features Cervelo carbon fork, Cervelo dual position seat post, integrated chain stay brake, integrated water bottle mount (compatible with traditional cages), horizontal rear drop outs, internal cabling and Cervelo fourth generation provenance. The frame set as shown weighs 5 pounds 4 ounce (2.4 kg). The frame serial number reads SNP4C11E00031. The front fork serial number reads CF343411A0345. Review of condition
The frame set is in very good condition. It is clean and ready for build. There is no road wear on the bottom of the down tube, on the chain stays or under the front fork crown. There are no cracks, bulges, discolorations, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the frame. The rear triangle is in alignment with the centerline of the frame. The rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The chain stay cable stop is undamaged and clear of obstructions. The bottom bracket cable stop is not damaged and clear of obstructions. There are no obstructions in the shifting and brake cable openings on the top of the top tube. The rear axle position bolts work properly. There is no corrosion in the water bottle bolt holes. The carbon water bottle mount is undamaged. The bottom bracket shell is not damaged. The threads in the bottom bracket are not stripped or corroded. The front derailleur hanger screws are not corroded. The chain stay mounted rear brake works properly. There is no corrosion in the springs or on the brake arms. There is 4 mm of brake pad remaining. No pieces of the brake are missing. The carbon brake cover is not damaged. There are no cracks, bulges, discoloration, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the front fork. The crown race is not damaged. The cartridge bearings turn smoothly and the head set is complete. There are no cracks, bulges, discoloration, flexing or flaking that raise concerns about the structural integrity of the seat post. The seat clamp works properly and it is complete. The chain stay protector is attached securely. Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is a 17 mm x 20 mm abrasion on the head tube. There is a 1 mm x 5 mm scratch on the drive side top tube. There is wear on the seat post from removal and installation. The front and rear drop outs show wear. The bottom of the water bottle is cut out and cannot be used for water. There is surface corrosion on the non drive side brake mount. The rear seat clamp mount cover is missing.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Cervelo P4 will make an excellent choice for the dedicated triathlete who wants to upgrade to a high performance aero frame set. This P4 is in very good condition and shows immaterial signs of wear. Built up with SRAM red components, Zipp Vuka aero bars, a Zipp 900 / 808 wheel set, the frame set will become a very fast time trial bike with a unique voice that speaks of Cervelo’s relentless determination to find ways to slip through the wind more efficiently. Although the P4 is no longer in production, this will not affect its capacity to deliver new revelations in the Race of Truth. An excellent and increasingly rare opportunity to obtain a Cervelo classic.
