The bicycle as shown weighs 18 pounds 5 ounces (8.3 kg). The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell reads SNSLC08B0013. The serial number on the bottom of the fork crown reads CF143108B0392. Look Keo Sprint pedals are being auctioned separately. The water bottles for the Arundel aero cage and the Profile Design mount are not included. There are over 150 images of the bicycle at Frame and Wheel Auction Services Please take a look. The bicycle is being sold as is.
Review of Condition
The bicycle is in very good condition and shows only light signs of wear. It is clean and it is ready to ride. The shifting is precise and complete in all twenty gears. The brakes work properly and there is about 3 mm of pad remaining on the brake pad wear indicator. The wheels are true and round and they spin freely and smoothly. There is no lateral play in the hubs. The spokes are straight and tight. The braking surfaces show normal wear. The tires hold pressure.
There are no cracks, bulges or flaking in the finish of the frame or any faults that raise questions about the structural integrity of the frame. The front and rear forks are in alignment with the centerline of the frame and the rear derailleur hanger is straight and undamaged. The front derailleur hanger is securely attached to seat tube and undamaged. There is no play in the bottom bracket. The chain does not read 0.75 or 1.0 on the chain wear tool.
Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is a 2 x 3 mm abrasion on the non-drive side of the head tube from the cable. There is a 2 x 10 mm abrasion on the non-drive side of the head tube over the “c” in Cervelo. There are three 2 x 5 mm abrasions on the non-drive side front fork. There is a 5 x 5 mm blemish on the non-drive side of the top tube above the rear cable stop. There are two 1 x 2 mm chips on the underside of the top tube. There is a 2 x 2 mm chip on the edge of the front cable stop on the top tube. There are two light scratches on the drive-side chain stay near the “e” in White. The bar extensions show wear around the mounts. There is corrosion in the brake lever bolts. The bar tape on the drive side base bar is torn. The cable for the front derailleur is frayed. Part of the chain stay guard is peeling off. There are some scratches on the face of the rear derailleur. There is a scratch on the non-drive side caliper of the front brake. The tires are dry and cracking and should be replaced.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this bicycle in its existing configuration will make an excellent entry level time trial bicycle for the beginner or intermediate triathlete. The bicycle can easily be reconfigured for road and will suit the dedicated road cyclist who seeks an aero frameset and appreciates the distinctive and simple graphics of Cervelo’s earlier offerings. Frame and Wheel points out that with a set of lighter wheels, the bicycle will be as light and as fast as its S2 descendants or its P2C cousins. Either as a time trial bike or as a road bike, the new owner will relish the joy of a compact crank set, the speed of an aero frame and the satisfaction of riding a modern day classic obtained at an excellent valuation.
