Frame and Wheel is auctioning a Velocity Deep V wheel set on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The wheels were parted out from a time trial bike. The wheels feature Velocity Deep V alloy clincher rims, Xero Lite front and rear hubs, straight aluminum alloy spokes, 30 mm rim depth, 19 mm rim width, 16 (F) / 20 (R) spoke count, Shimano free hub body, Made in Australia provenance and Velocity cool. The wheels as shown weigh 4 pounds 4 ounces (2.0 kg). 

Review of condition

The wheels are in good condition. They are clean and they are ready to ride. The hubs spin smoothly and freely. The spokes are tight and straight. The rims are round and the wheels are true. There is no vertical variation in the rear wheel when placed in a truing stand. There is no lateral or vertical variation in the front wheel when placed in a truing stand. There are no cracks in the hub bodies. There is no play in the hubs. There are no cracks in the flanges of the hubs. There is no corrosion on the spokes or on the nipples. The rim stickers are not peeling off. The skewers are straight. Frame and Wheel notes the following. There is lateral variation in the rear wheel of less than 1 mm when placed in the truing stand. There are notches on the free hub body from a cassette. The Velocity sticker on the front wheel is partially worn off. The braking surfaces of the rim show wear.

Frame and Wheel’s view is that this Velocity Deep V wheel set will make an excellent choice for the cyclist who seeks something practical and durable for training or commuting or for the wheel van. The wheels are in good condition and they have many hours of use remaining. A fine chance to obtain some of the original “Made in Australia” wheels from Velocity.
