2006 SRM Wired PowerMeter Cannondale Hollowgram Si/SL BB30 PowerControl V road
Frame and Wheel is auctioning a wired SRM PowerMeter Cannondale Si/SL crank set and a PowerControl V on the Frame and Wheel eBay Store. The power meter crank set and power control unit were stock on an unsold Cannondale at Cyclemania in Portland Maine. They were switched out and installed on a 2011 Cannondale SuperSix HighMod bicycle. The current owner purchased the bicycle and the SRM. The power meter and power control unit were used for racing and training. They were switched out in early 2012 and have been in storage. The owner is selling the SRM because he no longer uses them. The PowerMeter crank set features Cannondale Hollowgram Si/SL crank arms, Dura-Ace 7800 53T / 39T chain rings and BB30 compatibility. The PowerControl V unit features power, distance, speed, cadence and temperature data readings, black finish and new batteries. The power meter crank set, the power control unit and the sensor cadence magnet cable were sent to SRM USA for servicing and testing in May 2012. The batteries in the power control unit are new and the system works properly. The power meter crank set weighs 613 g. The serial number on the back of the crank set reads PM7600. The serial number on the power control unit reads 16009. There are 30 images of the power meter on the Frame and Wheel Flickr page. Please take a look. SRM USA testing and servicing paperwork included. Sensor and cadence magnet cable included. Power control unit handle bar mount included. Charger with US/UK adapter included. USB download cable included. Please note: The SRM Cannondale Hollowgram crank set requires a Cannondale BB30 SRM specific spindle (Please see link below). Bottom bracket not included. SRM software not included. Heart rate monitor strap not included. Magnet for speed sensor not included.
Review of condition
The power meter crank set is in very good condition. It is clean and ready for installation and use. The chain rings are not bent and the teeth are not chipped or broken. The chain ring bolts are not stripped or corroded or locked into place. The pedal thread bolts are not stripped. None of the chain ring bolts are missing. The spindle ends in the crank arms are not rounded off. There is no wear on the crank arms. There are no cracks in the body. The power meter control unit is in very good condition. It is clean and ready for installation. The screen is not damaged. The buttons work properly. It cycles through all of its pages. The batteries are new. The crank set, control unit and the sensor cable was returned to SRM USA for servicing and inspection in May 2012. SRM USA did the following: 1) Disassemble power meter, chainrings and crank arms. Clean and check reed switches, solder pad, coil, wires and lid. Load firmware, solder new batteries, test current and zero offset. Reassemble power meter with chain rings and crank arms. Calibration, test with PowerControl. SRM concluded that zero offset, power and cadence were OK. 2) Provide new slope=19.9Hz/Nm, new lid, reed switch, solder pad, 50 revolution coil, wires and O-rings. 3) Battery change in PowerControl V#16009 4) Sensor cable tested OK. Frame and Wheel notes the following. The back of the chain rings show wear.
Frame and Wheel conclusion
Frame and Wheel’s view is that this SRM PowerMeter will make an excellent choice for the cyclist who seeks the benefits of training and racing with a power meter and who is not concerned about the presence of some wires on the down tube. Indeed, power meter experts point out that the wired version transmits data faster and more reliably than the swankier wireless version. SRM users including Frame and Wheel note first the tremendous convenience of the SRM power meter when it comes to switching wheels. This crank set, control unit and sensor cable are just back from servicing and testing at SRM USA and are ready to measure watts with ruthless accuracy. The new owner’s cycling performance will ultimately benefit from the reams of data made available by this tool, despite the almost certain disillusionment that will follow on the first 20 minute threshold power test. A great opportunity to obtain an instrument that has become ubiquitous in competitive cycling.
